Deuter Kid Comfort II Review

After having a kid we had to figure out different ways to still have fun in the great outdoors, and it usually meant more equipment.

The deuter Kid Comfort 2 has given us the freedom to explore the outdoors with our little one.

She is not so little anymore. She is about 30lbs and still riding in it. 30lbs might seem like a lot to carry on your back, but one of the many perks about this carrier is the hip straps. They are ultra cush and takes the weight off your back and distributes the weight evenly to your hips. This pack is designed to carry up to 50lbs so we might have it for a couple more years.

Which is perfect for someone like me with a really bad back.

All the SpecsBreathable cushions with ventilating Aircontact technology and durable 3D AirMesh lining wicks away warmth and moisture.
Two ergonomically formed V-shape multi-chamber aluminium stays, direct part of the load from the back to the hips.
When fastened, the hip fins taper upwards in a conical form. The fins are concave and ultra-padded and sit perfectly on the hips. The multi-layered, PE-stiffened foam spreads the load evenly. The ‘pull-forward’ function makes the hip belt easy to fasten, even with even heavy loads.
ements allowing tricky sections to be negotiated without losing your balance – especially important when carrying a hefty load.
Height adjustable load transfer straps on the shoulder straps for precision pack positioning.
Contoured shoulder straps with 3D AirMesh lining. Heavy duty construction with special dual layer foams.
With the simple Vari Fit system you can easily adjust the pack to the individual’s back, making for a perfect fit every time.
Deuter’s Vari Flex system certainly defines the flexibility of this carrying system. The pivoting hip fins follow complex body movements. Thus, the load can be evenly distributed to the hips, providing freedom of movement and reducing fatigue. Two sturdy GRP-rods and load adjustment straps on the hip fins allow for precision load control. The Vari Flex system and aluminium stays form the core of the carrying system, which combines stability, efficient load transfer, perfect load control and incredible flexibility.
Snowboarding with the deuter
Deuter Kid Comfort 2 Review-Toddler Carrier
Because of the deuter's Vari Flex system my husband is able to snowboard with her on his back. The pivoting hip fins follow complex body movements.

I do not recommend this for everyone. My husband and I are very experienced snowboarders. I am not strong enough to do this and just getting off the lift would be a challenge for me. Please only attempt this if you are 110% sure of yourself and your skills to do this safely.

If you decide that you are capable get ready for some all around family fun.

My daughter laughs all the way down the hill. stand behind this product 100%. I would never recommend a product I disliked. This pack has never done us wrong and after using it for 2 1/2 years, it's still like brand new!

The other nice thing about this pack is the deep pocket space. Plenty of room to pack snacks, diapers, first aid kit, water.

If you don't know what to pack when heading outdoors with your little one I have created a checklist for you below. Download it now so you head out prepared!
